Job Description

Our client in Georgetown, KY is seeking a Design Engineer for a full time role. The Design Engineer will be a part of fast-paced product design, fabrication and installation team. This position will require hands-on experience using Rhino, Solid Works or compatible engineering design software, with strong attention to detail and creative flair. Project management skills are mandated for this position to ensure the daily demands are met in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must be able to communicate with customer in developing and confirming project scope and following project thru to completion.

• Ability to draft models and drawings of equipment using Rhino/Solid Work and/or compatible software.

• Comply with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.

• Ensure compliance with the industry’s safety standards.

• Ensure equipment design is user and environmentally friendly and meets customer expectations.

• Have an open/creative mind to work around design obstacles and new concepts.

• Evaluate equipment and tools for improvement/kaizen opportunities.

• Develop BOM for the designed equipment and follow through to purchase of goods to fabrication, trials and eventual installation of equipment at customer desired location.

• Must be able and willing to travel to customer facilities.

• Coordinate scheduling to maintain project scheduling to meet customer/project timeline.

Skills and Requirements

• Previous experience as a Design Engineer or similar role required.

• Proven experience using Rhino, Solid Works software; knowledge of CatiaV.5 is a plus.

• Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design.

• Good background and resources for all mechanical parts within design

• Must have good communication skills to be able to discuss project requirements with any vendors.

• Excellent oral and written communication, ability to prepare presentations to explain project to clients knowledge of CatiaV.5 is a plus.
