Job Description
The ABA Specialist provides direct behavioral support and intervention for children ages 3–5 years old enrolled in the Berean Headstart program. The ABA Specialist works collaboratively with teachers, classroom staff, and the Education and Disability Specialist to implement individualized behavior plans, promote positive social-emotional development, and support inclusive classroom practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for children with developmental and behavioral needs.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) under the guidance of the Education and Disability Specialist.
• Provide ongoing coaching and modeling to teaching staff on effective behavior management strategies.
• Collect and analyze behavioral data to track progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure consistent support across settings.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with Head Start and agency policies.
• Promote a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.

Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field (required).
• Experience working with preschool-aged children (ages 3–5), particularly those with developmental or behavioral challenges.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and behavioral intervention techniques.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
