Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support one of our largest federal clients in Wisconsin. A typical day for a Mechanical Engineer in this role involves supporting the design and development of heavy-duty vehicle components. You’ll perform engineering calculations and assist with layouts, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers. Expect to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve technical issues, evaluate designs for performance and reliability, and contribute to production support. Your work will also include preparing reports, proposals, and presentations while applying industry standards and company policies throughout the engineering process. Responsibilities include:
• Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, as well as general industry engineering standards and processes
• Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
• Under close supervision, work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.
• Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
• Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
• Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
• Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
• Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
• Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
• Provide non-complex technical assistance for production support.
• Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
• Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
• Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.

Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience. • Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.
• Experience with a high-level CAD system
