Description
**Description:** SAIC has an opportunity for a **Systems Engineer** to join an elite team providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services in in **Fort Belvoir, VA** . The selected candidate will work multiple ground system projects and tasks—from broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, etc.) to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, system integration and transition, etc.) to support vital operational missions.
Responsibilities:
+ Support Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities across the customer site and work collaboratively with other customer organizations across the mission enterprise.
+ Work with SE&I teams to execute site system engineering processes.
+ Oversee site processes are used to document and manage site baseline to accommodate evolving mission needs.
+ Collaborate with System Program Offices (SPO), local operations teams, and other Government Agencies to integrate various GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture.
+ Ensure representatives and organizations understand site integration needs and processes.
+ Assist in developing standards, processes and procedures, and operations & maintenance plans.
+ Review and evaluate technical documentation (e.g. RFCs, CONOPS, requirements; issues and risks, etc.).
+ Represent government’s interests at various forums and provide analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers.
+ Serve as liaison between GPOC and internal/external organizational project managers to guide and monitor progress.
+ Occasional CONUS travel.
Qualifications
Required:
+ Must be a US Citizen.
+ Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
+ Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years or more experience or master’s in STEM field and three (3) years or more experience is contractually required.
+ Expertise in full system engineering life cycle from concept, requirements, design & development, to deployment and operational maintenance.
+ Experience with project management supporting the delivery, integration, and transition of mission systems and/or mission applications.
+ Ability to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization’s needs throughout system development lifecycle.
+ Self-starter, able to proactively addresses customer requirements without supervision and be able to readily define solutions for broad, abstract topics.
+ Polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment comfortable briefing or communicating with senior government managers.
+ Strength in collaborating and coordinating with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder.
Desired:
+ Real-time operations experience as a SIGINT or GEOINT spacecraft operator, spacecraft engineer, or ground systems operator familiar with space operations and policies, ground operations, and system requirements/governance policies.
+ Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, cloud technologies familiarity.
