    Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is seeking an outgoing, energetic APP to join our team in our growing Grand Rapids area. Under the direction of a physician, provide medical care to patients of varying type and acuity. In addition to the M-F, 8a-5p schedule this APP will also be responsible for 1:7 home call rotation.

     

    Candidate with orthopaedic experience preferred however will train as needed; mentorship and ongoing training occurring regularly for all clinical staff. Ideal candidate is proficient in making experienced decisions diagnosing and treating a variety of upper and lower extremity injuries.

    Responsibilities performed:

    + First eval acute injuries

    + Examinations on non-surgical cases

    + Low to moderate complexity consults

    + Includes both office and OR time and daytime ER coverage

    + Consult with Physician to determine appropriate plan of care

    + Offer education and counseling to patients and families in preventative care and treatment planning

    **This position may include travel to Traverse City or other satellite clinics**RNFA certification preferred to actively participate in the OR, available upon training

     

    Basic Qualifications (Nurse Practitioner): Education - Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting CommissionExperience - 3 years of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in current, relevant clinical experience Previous experience functioning in a collaborative roleNurse Practitioner – Licensed (NP)Basic Life Support (BLS)Basic Qualifications (Physician Assistant): Education - Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational programPhysician Asst (PHYS ASST)Basic Life Support (BLS)
