• Material Planner

    US Tech Solutions (Houston, TX)


    Job Description:

    + Plans and requisitions materials of greater complexity and financial impact within certain product lines and/or commodities.

    + Plans ordering parameters based on achieving multiple objectives. Adheres to ordering parameters, insuring objectives are achieved and/or modified to improve on objectives.

    + Initiates reschedule as result of changes in plans and/or priorities. Initiates follow-up of materials to insure availability to production.

    + Communicates with suppliers on delivery status. Handles routine availability problems and recommends to supervision alternatives on major problems.

    + Monitors incoming material through inspection and prioritizes where necessary. Coordinates the disposition and flow of rejected material. Monitors material receipts and inventory on period basis.

    + Reports results against plan. Identifies areas adversely impacting plan levels and take corrective action drawing upon supervision and/or management, as necessary. Monitors flow of material to support production insuring availability is as required.

    + Insures materials are requisitioned to the ordering parameters. Coordinates ECO activity, insuring proper disposition of material and insuring replacement material is available as required.

    + Generates commodity forecast to be used in Procurement in establishing of long-term contracts. Insures visibility is given to all material within a commodity.

    + Communicates regularly with Procurement any changes which may impact established contracts. May participate in new product programs. Identifies and disposes of obsolete inventory.
