About the Role
The Senior Product Manager I is responsible for overseeing Law Enforcement products or product features and directing project execution. This position operates within a dynamic, collaborative team environment focused on the development of innovative product solutions. The incumbent manages the end-to-end development and implementation processes for assigned features during sprint cycles, relying on both qualitative and quantitative insights into customer needs. Representing their product or feature internally and externally, they communicate effectively with peers, managers, and stakeholders as required. They advocate for the customer's interests to the delivery team and contribute to demonstrations at key program milestones. The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to execute product vision and roadmap strategies, devises comprehensive go-to-market launch plans in alignment with customer-facing teams, and maintains an in-depth understanding of the customer base and target market. This role fosters strong technological partnerships to address customer requirements and serves as an essential resource for evaluating new feature proposals. Additionally, the Senior Product Manager I provides informal mentorship to junior Product Managers, supporting the growth and success of the public safety team.
This position can be home based anywhere in the USA but must work East Coast hours.
Responsibilities
Customer Focus
+ Understands customer use cases and market trends.
+ Maintains regular customer contact for insights.
+ Develops processes to identify customer needs.
+ Guides the team to meet those needs.
+ Considers competitors and regulations in product decisions.
Data-Driven Decision-Making & Analysis
+ Responsible for tracking metrics related to customer needs and ensuring that product activities influence those metrics.
+ Able to extract and access data from various sources, and manages uncertainties in available data.
+ Evaluates different options to address complex, conflicting priorities.
+ Identifies relevant data for establishing KPRs, priorities, and dashboards.
+ Designs multiple hypothesis-based strategies for product evaluation, such as AB testing for interactive products, and evaluates the projected effectiveness of each approach.
+ Uses analytical and data-driven methods even when comprehensive data sets are not available.
Go to Market & Product Marketing Lifecycle
+ Develops coordinated launch plans with marketing and sales.
+ Drafts collateral for marketing and sales.
+ Assists with pricing strategy, when needed.
+ Owns assigned aspects of launch and strategy execution.
+ Manages sunset process and customer migration planning.
+ Contributes to business strategy, sales, and development.
Product Delivery & Development Lifecycle
+ Develops timely, clear, and thorough requirements
+ Understands the full product experience and creates detailed prototypes.
+ Oversees all lifecycle phases, from planning to release.
+ Is well-versed in company SDLC and agile methods.
+ Writes clear requirements for complex features, addressing clarifications promptly.
+ Manages products independently, consulting leadership as needed.
Strategy & Commercial Acumen
+ Defines product vision and roadmap aligned with business strategy; communicates with key stakeholders.
+ Assesses buy, build, or partner options and commercial performance.
+ Incorporates competitor insights into product planning.
+ Prepares or contributes to investment business cases.
+ Leverages data for commercial decisions and growth.
Technical Skills
+ Develops product features using company platforms and technologies.
+ Collaborates with tech and data teams on development strategies.
+ Explores innovative technologies to support product growth.
+ Analyzes data with tools like Excel.
+ Stays informed about emerging and competitor technologies.
Requirements
+ Minimum years of experience as a product manager: 6+ years, 8+ years preferred
+ Product Management certification preferred.
+ Skilled at solving complex problems by assessing risks and presenting clear, data-driven positions.
+ Proven collaboration with engineering, design, and business teams.
+ Solid grasp of Agile Scrum, Kanban, and user story development.
+ Experience in government, law enforcement, or public records preferred.
+ Project Management certification desirable.
+ Education to Qualify: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical subject (Computer Science or Engineering discipline) is preferred, but not required.
Physical and/or logical access to criminal justice information is required for this role. The successful candidate will be required to pass an enhanced criminal background check conducted by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners conducted in compliance with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information System (“CJIS”) security policy. Employees in this role may also be subject to ongoing criminal background checks as required by the Company’s state and local law enforcement partners. Only those certified by state and local law enforcement can perform the essential functions of this position.
Base Pay Range for CO is $102,800 - $171,300. Base Pay Range for IL is $107,900 - $179,900. Base Pay Range for Chicago, IL is $113,100 - $188,500. Base Pay Range for MD is $107,900 - $179,900. Base Pay Range for NY is $113,100 - $188,500. Base Pay Range for New York City is $118,200 - $197,100. Base Pay Range for Rochester, NY is $97,700 - $162,700. Base Pay Range for OH is $97,700 - $162,700.
This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
