**Description:** The Associate Chief Engineer \(ACE\) will own the end to end IT infrastructure for the Foxtrot Program, maintaining the legacy Windows Hyper V environment while preparing the program and leading the future migration to a Kubernetes based micro service architecture on Linux VMs hosted by VMWare\. This role blends deep systems engineering expertise with strong leadership, DevSecOps practices, and a focus on information assurance, hardware lifecycle, and cross team collaboration to ensure mission critical continuity and modernize the stack\.

• Steward legacy Windows Server fleet \(Hyper V\) – patching, performance, HA, vulnerability reporting\.

• Architect and drive migration to production Kubernetes clusters on VMWare ESXi \(Tanzu/OpenShift or equivalent\)\.

• Lead cross functional IA & HW Scrum teams, coordinate with CAMs, Product Owners, and other ACEs\.

• Establish unified Information Assurance vision covering both Windows and Linux/K8s platforms\.

• Implement IaC \(Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell DSC\), CI/CD pipelines, and Git Ops \(Helm, Argo CD/Flux\)\.

• Deploy observability \(Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK\) and automated alerting; define SLOs/KPIs\.

• Mentor engineers, build competency matrices, and foster continuous learning\.

Basic Qualifications:

• Demonstrated leadership: technical ownership, cross team coordination, Agile/SAFe experience\.

• 5\+ yr Windows Server \(Hyper V\) administration; 3\+ yr Linux \(RHEL/Ubuntu/SUSE\) on VMware ESXi\.

• Strong virtualization knowledge \(Hyper V, VMware vSphere\) and VM migration experience\.

• Solid networking fundamentals \(TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls\) and security best practices\.

• Hands on with CI/CD pipelines \(Jenkins/Azure DevOps/GitLab\) and IaC tools \(Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell DSC\)\.

• PowerShell & Bash scripting required;

• Basic monitoring \(PerfMon, syslog\)

• Active TS/SCI clearance w/ CI Poly

Desired Skills:

• HADES Experience

• Experience with Prometheus/Grafana or ELK/EFK\.

• 2–4 yr designing, deploying, and operating production Kubernetes clusters \(Docker aware\)\.

• Python/Go

• Experience with mission critical databases \(SQL Server, PostgreSQL/MySQL\) and K8s storage \(CSI\)\.

**Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.

**Schedule for this Position:** 9x80 every other Friday off
