Job Description:

The General Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of hospital facilities. This role supports patient care by maintaining critical infrastructure, including mechanical systems, electrical components, plumbing, and general building structures. The mechanic works independently or as part of a team to troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to service requests in a timely manner, all while adhering to hospital safety standards and regulatory requirements

Salary Range:

$21.00-$26.47/hourly

Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations_

Job Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year experience preferred (preventive maintenance, inspection and repairs of equipment, facilities and systems)

License/Certification Preferred: Valid New York State driver’s license.

Skills: Basic knowledge in all trades, attention to detail, good communication skills, customer service focus, and good troubleshooting skills a plus.
