Position Summary
The Strategic Consultation Director will lead a team of pharmacists in supporting new sales opportunities, strategic client engagements, and clinical solution development. The position will drive advanced client consultation by leading the pharmacists on both the Clinical Sales & Strategy and Strategic Insights & Solutions teams which collectively support new sales/prospects and current clients. The Strategic Consultation Director will work with Sales Directors to identify opportunities for prospects and develop insights aimed at teaching prospects about the pharmacy challenges they are facing with a focus on identifying solutions to help support their membership and pharmacy benefit. A similar approach will be applied to current strategic clients where clinical and analytical insights will be leveraged to tell better data driven stories. Those unique perspectives and teachable moments with clients will drive best-in-class consultation to help clients optimize their pharmacy benefits, improve patient care, drive down costs and maximize healthcare spend.
The Director will be expected to support clinical RFP responses, perform clinical modeling, review prospect reporting, support the development of clinical sales messaging, support finalist meetings and finalist training for other clinicians. The position will attend prospecting meetings, broker and consultant meetings, finalist meetings along with consultative meetings with current clients. The candidate should have excellent presentation skills and be able to effectively articulate the clinical value prop for Express Scripts with a focus on identifying key insights and opportunities. It will be important to evaluate a data set, work with analytical partners and craft a compelling clinical and opportunistic story.
The role will also require collaborating with partners across the Product organizations. Clinical insights from consultative meetings along with direct feedback from clients will be leveraged to drive the development of new solutions, enhancements to existing solutions and ideation to inform the product pipeline. The role will have shared accountability in driving client satisfaction, retention and solution adoption.
Travel up to 30% may be required.
Essential Functions
+ Lead and mentor a team of pharmacists, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
+ Support new sales opportunities from prospecting through implementation.
+ Attend and support finalist, broker, and consultant meetings for new sales opportunities.
+ Perform clinical modeling, review clinical reporting and RFP responses for new sales opportunities.
+ Develop and present clinical sales messaging, identifying insights and opportunities for finalist meetings.
+ Provide meaningful consultation to both current and prospect clients by leveraging deep data insights to identify key areas of opportunity.
+ Leverage knowledge of pharmacy optimization, drug optimization, benefit optimization, key conditions, current solutions and the healthcare landscape.
+ Collaborate with Product partners to help drive the development of new solutions, enhancements to existing solutions and ideation to inform the product pipeline
+ Organizational savvy to efficiently resolve issues, develop client presentations and collaborate cross functionally to drive results
+ Support the development and execution of strategic plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications
+ BS Pharm or PharmD with active pharmacist license and 7 years of experience, consulting experience desirable
+ Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and appropriately in a manner effective for the situation
+ Excellent presentation skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to the audience and drive alignment
+ Deep knowledge and experience with clinical product management and working knowledge of a vast suite of solutions across the enterprise
+ Ability to evaluate data, identify both existing and custom opportunities and consult clients to drive action and deliver value to the organization
+ Combination of critical thinking, problem-solving skills and strategic planning abilities
+ Ability to think strategically, design plans of action and execute
+ Demonstrated experience leading teams of pharmacists or clinical professionals
+ Ability to work in ambiguous or new situations, think strategically to diagnose problems and recommend best solutions based on limited data
+ Financial acumen: distills complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives for executive audiences and adept at storytelling with numbers to shape business strategy
+ Proven ability to foster collaboration, value other perspectives and gain support and buy-in; fast learner and ability to adapt
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 161,600 - 269,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
