    The Job

     

    WB Games is looking for a Designer, Narrative Systems to join the team that created _Hogwarts Legacy_ .

     

    **This is a hybrid position requiring up to 2-3 days per week onsite at Avalanche's Salt Lake City studio.

     

    We are looking for a visionary storyteller. Applicants should be creative, self-motivated problem solvers who enjoy collaborating with other writers and designers to create immersive narrative experiences.

    The Daily

    • Craft compelling quests, satisfying dialogue, and rich stories that support the developer and project vision.

    • Champion narrative, thematic, and mechanical coherence across story and gameplay.

    • Visualize, track, manage and communicate outward the “spaghetti monster” inherent in games with narrative choice.

    • Collaborate with writers, designers and the game director to champion story in design and provide narrative support for design elements, such as: story beat creation, game mechanics delivery, character profiles, character motivations, narrative feature design, player choices and player emotional journey as delivered through narrative during game development.

    The Essentials

    • Minimum of 3 years progressively complex game industry experience within design or narrative.

    • A strong record of quality in writing and game design.

    • Previous experience in interactive storytelling, narrative design, and game writing.

    • Proven ability to create within an established franchise, authoring exciting new experiences that still feel authentic and tonally consistent.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Familiarity with standard game-development processes and workflows.

    • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a cross-culture and multi-time-zone team.

    • Possess a deep literacy in games, film, literature, and television, and a love of fantasy.

    Nice-to-Haves

    + Experience in visual scripting languages like Unreal 5, Blueprints.

    + Experience with dialogue authoring systems like Articy.
