    Job Summary

    TYLin is seeking a Data Visualization Developer (Power BI) to support our Project Controls group. The successful candidate will design and implement business intelligence solutions that transform complex project and financial datasets into actionable insights. This role requires a strong technical foundation in data modeling, visualization, and automation, coupled with an understanding of project and construction management environments.

     

    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Build and manage scalable data models, ensuring datasets are accurate, validated, and optimized for analysis. Perform ETL (extraction, transformation, and loading) using tools such as Power Query, SQL, and Alteryx.

    + Translate business and project requirements into intuitive, interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI. Deliver insights that support project controls, scheduling, and construction management decisions.

    + Work closely with project managers, schedulers, engineers, and analysts to understand data needs and develop tailored solutions.

    + Validate and reconcile data, implement quality checks, and establish security protocols including access controls and permissions.

    + Train end-users to navigate and interpret dashboards, empowering them to make informed, data-driven decisions. Provide troubleshooting and ongoing technical support.

    + Monitor and maintain BI infrastructure, troubleshoot data pipeline issues, and ensure optimal system performance.

    + Stay current on Power BI, DAX, SQL, Snowflake, and Alteryx enhancements. Adopt and implement best practices in BI design and data governance.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.

    + 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in data visualization or BI development.

    + Proficiency with Power BI (Desktop and Service), DAX, and SQL.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    + Alteryx: Workflow automation, data preparation, remediation.

    + Excel (Advanced): Macros, Power Query, automated reconciliations, and journal entry processes.

    + Snowflake: Integration with Excel/Alteryx pipelines and database management.

    + Project Controls and Construction Management Knowledge: Ability to align BI solutions with project scheduling, cost, and performance tracking needs.

    + Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and deliver solutions that improve efficiency and decision-making.

    TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $80,000- $120,000 annually for this position and local market.
