About the Role:
CBRE is seeking a skilled and dedicated Union Engineer to join our team in Southfield, MI. This is a critical role supporting a major telecommunications client, ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of their vital infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing equipment and systems essential for the client's network operations. This is a union position, offering stability and competitive benefits.
What You'll Do:
+ Troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore routine technical service and equipment issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the client's network.
+ Address major network problems impacting multiple business locations, major network elements, or site outages, working quickly and efficiently to restore service.
+ Verify and maintain accurate documentation for all work performed, adhering to strict standards and procedures.
+ Maintain routine maintenance schedules, system configurations, and technical reference materials, ensuring all systems are up-to-date and operating optimally.
+ Participate in user training on system and application updates/enhancements, and create comprehensive training documentation.
+ Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments, providing innovative solutions to challenges.
+ Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of your job discipline, along with a broad understanding of other related disciplines within the function.
+ Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
+ Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and other related teams.
+ Work within broad guidelines and policies, exercising sound judgment and initiative.
+ Explain difficult or sensitive information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What You'll Need:
+ High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure is highly desirable.
+ Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
+ Must meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
+ Ability to exercise sound judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
+ Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions and adapt to changing technologies.
+ In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
+ Exceptional organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
