Job Description
**Hybrid:** _This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate will be based Warren or Detroit, MI and is expected to work in the office 3 days per week at minimum or other frequency determined by the business._

Communications Senior Manager:
The Strategic Initiatives team is seeking a Senior Manager to play a critical role developing and executing plans to engage and inform employees at all levels of the business. This person will be responsible for increasing the impact of our internal communication events and initiatives – with flawless execution. This is a pivotal role for an experienced communications professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, skilled at event management and can proactively shape internal narratives while navigating complex challenges with discretion and impact. This is an opportunity to partner with our comms leadership team to help shape the future of GM – driving strategic events that build connection, clarity, and confidence across our workforce. Responsibilities
+ Develop, execute and support the planning and execution of the company’s largest internal events (Global Employee Q&As, All Executive Meetings and Senior Leader Meetings), with a focus on upleveling content to increase the impact across all levels of the business.
+ Help drive the strategy and execution of communications programs that enhance the employee experience and build confidence in leadership.
+ Shape messaging and platforms that amplify leadership voices, ensuring transparency, authenticity, and inspiration in internal storytelling.
+ Leverage data and employee insights to measure effectiveness and continuously refine communication strategies for maximum impact.
+ Support content development for Senior Leader and All Executive communications, collaborating with other parts of the business to tailor content for the top leaders in the company.
+ Manage executive distribution lists that are the foundation for Senior Leader Hub, Senior Leader Meetings, and All Executive Meetings.
+ Manage amplification plans for our largest internal events, providing compelling content for leaders to cascade to their teams.
+ Develop and implement a cohesive internal communications strategy for the EST, focused on increasing employee understanding of GM’s purpose, vision, strategy and values.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ 8+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field
+ Proven ability to develop and execute high-impact internal communications strategies for a large, complex organization
+ Strong writing and storytelling skills, with experience crafting executive messaging and internal campaigns that inspire and engage
+ A strategic mindset, and able to see the big picture while executing with attention to detail
+ Experience working with global teams and diverse workforces in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment
+ Ability to work cross-functionally, influencing and collaborating with HR, legal, communications, and business leadership
+ Demonstrated problem solving & analytical ability
+ High level of independent thinking & decision-making skills
+ Demonstrated planning & organization skills
