Align the worlds of business and technology.

+ The incumbent will be responsible for the business architecture of Global Merchant Services Technology within American Express. This is a business & technology facing role, mapping business process to capabilities, providing E2E solution for the prioritized features, ensuring robust system architecture. The role involves working with product managers, business managers and engineering leaders to convert the business idea/vision into a development roadmap.

+ Requires strong organizational, technical and creative problem-solving skills. Requires strong stakeholder management and ability to influence across multiple levels of leadership. Must work well in a dynamic, complex environment and under deadline pressures. Propagates architectural flows and governance to a set of scrum teams to deploy the new business features across products for GMST

+ Run solution management cadence including partners (Product Development, Technology, and business teams) to identify needs, opportunities, and gaps, and solve problems

+ Create architectural artifacts (process flows and diagrams) for business initiatives to ensure consistency across products, help in evaluating and configuring new products.

+ Consolidate and correlate disconnected business needs, processes and identify synergies to avoid redundant design and build.

+ Communicate solution architecture details and roadmap to scrum teams who in-turn will translate them into user stories and deployment plan

+ Brainstorm and negotiate effectively with various stakeholders to continuously come up with best design

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

+ 3–5 years of end-to-end Solution Architecture for large, customer-facing platforms in payments/merchant servicing.

+ 3–5 years in Agile product development and delivery, translating roadmaps into epics/user stories and guiding multiple scrum teams.

+ Proven experience with CCP (Customer Care Professional) portals and digital self-service; ability to close system gaps and improve omnichannel experiences to drive push-to-digital.

+ Hands-on modernization of legacy servicing portals to a contemporary stack; expertise with hybrid cloud and Java services on Tomcat and Jetty with CI/CD like GitHub Actions.

+ API-first and event-driven design (REST/GraphQL, pub-sub with Kafka); proficiency in Java and Python.

+ Data architecture experience including business service TLAs, integration with enterprise data platforms (e.g., one-data/OneData), and working knowledge of Elastic Search, Postgress, YugaByte and the big-data ecosystem.

+ Exposure to enterprise offerings and platforms such as Enterprise Logging Framework( ELF) Reliable Transaction Framework (RTF), one-app, ACE and ability to partner with platform teams on modernization strategy.

+ Working knowledge of payments compliance, privacy, and security (e.g., PCI DSS) with the ability to embed security, resiliency, and observability into designs.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with influential leadership across product, business, and engineering; high degree of organization, initiative, and accountability.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually bonus benefits
