Duties Description This position is the campground supervisor of Rollins Pond Campground. Major duties will include managing maintenance, cleaning staff, and front booth staff daily assignments and duties. Will oversee operation of the 3 campground water systems, maintain plumbing distribution systems, trash removal, operation of septic systems, maintaining septic records, and completion of water operation reports. Tracking of fuel usage and submitting logs and various critical paperwork. Ordering of supplies, computer program operation, record keeping, daily/weekly financial audits, organizing daily assignments to staff, explaining and enforcing policies, training staff, and monitoring general staff and public campground activities. Will be required to supervise 5 or more employees, which include front booth, evening security park rangers, maintenance staff, and scheduling. Ensure that staff understand their job duties and any issues/concerns are addressed in a timely manner with clear direction on how to improve performance. Making sure to communicate any issues with supervisors. Ensure LATS are submitted and approved in a timely fashion. Assignments should always take into consideration the safety of the employees. During the winter months focused duties will be plowing and picnic table construction. All injuries to staff should be reported in a timely manner as per guidance provided. Responsible for inventory and purchasing of all cleaning supplies and fuel needed for campground maintenance. All receipts should be provided to the supervisor in a timely manner with appropriate signatures. All purchases should be done in compliance with the state law. Will have to live at the campground during the period of operation, without exception (see Recreation Manual #211.1)- Will be required to operate a personal computer for revenue accounting purposes, permit issuance, and completion of the daily time card system (LATS). - Must be willing to work undefined hours, ensuring continued operation of your park, with a limited, if any, assigned amount of overtime. Must work all weekends and holidays through the summer, unless otherwise excused. Required to work through Columbus Day weekend as a term of employment.- Must be willing and able to respond to emergencies at the facility regardless of the time factor, day/night. - Must be willing and able to do manual work in the park (such as lifting garbage cans chest high, using rakes and shovels, pushing lawn mowers, and cleaning toilets). Must assist and manage operation of recycle stations within the campground in accordance with state, county, and town laws. - Must be well groomed and wear the issued uniform as well as work shoes (no sneakers). Issued clothing must be kept clean and presentable. - Will be required to speak clearly and communicate with others, which includes enforcement of rules and regulations. Must be even-tempered and capable of communicating with the public as well as subordinates and supervisors. Will be required to read and understand the Campground Operations Manual and perform all functions defined within. This is a year-round position and is 100% dependent on seasonal funding.
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have one year of satisfactory experience in maintenance, construction, landscaping or in a business operation.At least 6 month of such experience must be at the supervisory level. Must be at least 18 years of age and have and maintain a valid driver’s license. *Experience in a business operation must include responsibilities dealing with the public, customer service and daily financial reporting and processing.
Additional Comments This is a hourly appointment currently funded through 3/31/2026, with a likelihood of continuing beyond that date. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview. Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.Must be able to work in remote areas.Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response.Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies.Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.Must Reside in State Housing.
