Description
The AWS Colo Business Development Team is seeking a Technical Business Analyst with strong analytical and communication skills to bridge gap between business needs and technical solutions. This role requires proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation, and experience in dashboard development to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will combine business acumen with technical expertise to support data-driven decision making, streamline reporting, and provide scalable analytical solutions.
Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document and analyze requirements.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transfor, and validate data across multiple sources.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight, or equivalent) that provide clear, actionable insights.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and data models.
- Develop reports, KPIs, and data visualizations to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Document processes, workflows, and data logic for long-term scalability and knowledge sharing.
Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business decisions and identify trends or opportunities.
- Partner with Operations and data teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality

Basic Qualifications
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Bachelor's degree, or MBA in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- 3+ years of Tableau Desktop, Quicksight or other relevant data visualization software experience
- Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
