Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world?
It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Senior Financial Analyst to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes and controls.
Project Kuiper is seeking a Finance Manager to serve as the strategic Finance Business Partner for Payload and Silicon Development. This role will collaborate closely with engineering leadership to drive financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making for new technologies.
Key job responsibilities
* Strategic Business Partnership: Partner with Payload and Silicon Development leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with program objectives. Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership based on financial analysis and business insights. Drive cross-functional collaboration with various teams including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
* Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead annual operating plan and monthly forecast processes for the organization. Develop and maintain complex financial models to support business cases and strategic initiatives. Create and analyze various scenarios to optimize resource allocation and investment decisions. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
* Program Financial Management: Establish and maintain financial controls and processes for engineering development programs. Support engineering change control process with financial impact analysis.
* Financial Reporting & Analytics: Create and deliver executive-level presentations and financial updates. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Conduct variance analysis and provide meaningful insights to drive business decisions. Develop and automate reporting tools to improve efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
