Description

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) is a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians, on a mission to develop a large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer.

We are looking to hire a software development engineer to work closely with scientists and engineers on the Device team. In this role, you will work to: 1) improve the efficiency & robustness of automated data collection from our quantum devices across the full stack and 2) build software solutions for improving the visualization & reporting of the collected data.

About the team

You will be joining the Device team within the AWS Center of Quantum Computing. This team leverages experimental device physics knowledge to generate and improve upon a unit cell of a processor lattice. A focus area of the team is standardization and automation of test standards to increase our statistical knowledge at the unit cell level.

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 2+ years of development/programming/scripting language (Python/Java/Bash/Perl) experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working effectively with science, data processing, and software engineering teams

- Experience in applying statistical models for large-scale application and building automated analytical systems

- Experience with AWS technologies

- Experience with web services and REST APIs

- Experience with machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance

- Experience in experimental physics or quantum computing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
