**Location:** Mountain View, CA, (94043)
**Employment Type:** Contract , 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday to Friday
**Pay Rate:-** $65 - 70/hour
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Legal Trade Compliance Specialist to support our legal and compliance operations, with a strong focus on import regulations and government interactions. This role involves handling complex trade compliance matters, managing large datasets, and using advanced tools including AI and Excel to support legal reviews and investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead and manage import compliance issues, including responding to requests from government agencies.
+ Provide expert guidance on customs regulations, especially with US Customs and Border Protection, and ideally with Canadian and Mexican customs authorities.
+ Analyze and present data using advanced Excel skills (charts, tables, dashboards) and AI tools for scripting and automation.
+ Collaborate with internal legal, operations, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and resolve trade-related issues.
+ Conduct legal reviews and investigations related to trade, fraud, and regulatory matters.
+ Create and improve documentation, templates, and training materials related to trade compliance.
+ Support cross-functional teams with legal insights during product launches and operational changes.
+ Manage and organize legal and compliance documentation efficiently across teams.
Required Qualifications:
+ 8+ years of experience in legal, trade compliance, or customs-related roles.
+ Strong knowledge of import laws and regulations; export experience is a plus but not required.
+ Hands-on experience working with customs officials in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
+ Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, charts, formulas, data visualization).
+ Familiarity with AI tools for data analysis, scripting, and presentation.
+ Comfortable working with large datasets and presenting insights clearly.
+ Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Experience in the tech industry is highly preferred.
**Pay Details:** $65.00 to $70.00 per hour
