    Description

    As a Component Engineer at LAB126 you will be at the heart of the hardware design process. You will have the opportunity to apply your skills as part of a world-class team working collaboratively with cross-functional groups to help bring some of the best-selling consumer electronics products to market.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    Review all requests for new components and assure that the parts can satisfy the existing design requirements.

     

    - Assign inventory part numbers and construct standardized descriptions for all new parts.

     

    - Establish and maintain specifications for custom and off-the-shelf components.

     

    - Generate specifications for new custom parts.

     

    - Assist design engineers in the selection of parts that best fit their requirements.

     

    - Read and understand electrical schematics mechanical drawings and component data sheets.

     

    - Interface with the ECAD team in the maintenance of Libraries and Databases.

     

    A day in the life

     

    As a CE in a HW Development Role you will support all phases of the hardware development process including support of a component selection strategy that ensures part availability throughout the product development process detect and prevent component issues that would impact successful product launch. You will juggle priorities without losing sight of the customer the project schedule and planned launch milestones. Forging collaboration between the engineering operations and global commodity management groups to ensure that the component choices fit the goals and objectives of the design through production sustaining and obsolescence stages. The Component Engineer will assist in maintaining the AVL by creating Engineering change orders assigning part numbers and maintaining part descriptions.

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
