Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
Join a leading manufacturer of motor vehicle parts and accessories, specializing in aluminum alloy wheels, as a Controls Engineer in Columbus, IN. This role is crucial in optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing product quality, and driving innovation in aluminum wheel production.
Responsibilities
+ Design, program, and oversee the installation of machines and processes.
+ Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
+ Build, program, or purchase necessary components for projects.
+ Plan project details and communicate with other departments to ensure success.
+ Support control systems plant-wide for new equipment.
Essential Skills
+ Associates Degree in Engineering.
+ 3+ years of relevant experience.
+ Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
+ Experience with CAD design, including plant layout and custom machine design.
+ Familiarity with Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Allen Bradley systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Cognex and Keyence Vision Systems is a plus.
Work Environment
The role is based in a foundry environment, which can be warm, but the paint process area is clean. The position operates on the 1st shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with minimal overtime required. The company values its employees, offering a secure and stable work environment, with only one layoff in the past 35 years. There is an opportunity to work with robotics at a large manufacturer.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.
