Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Engineering Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) work, operating UHV systems, and ensuring systems are hermetically sealed. This role involves bolting together flanges and contributing to building UHV or vacuum test systems.
Responsibilities
+ Operate UHV vacuum systems and ensure they are hermetically sealed.
+ Construct and operate UHV test systems or vacuum test systems.
+ Perform vacuum leak checking using a residual gas analyzer (RGA) or helium leak checker.
+ Conduct maintenance on lab equipment, including glove boxes.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues with vacuum systems.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with UHV work and vacuum systems.
+ Ability to operate and contribute to building UHV test systems.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience as a maintenance technician.
+ Mechanical skills related to UHV systems.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite at a small startup, offering a collaborative and innovative work environment. The role requires hands-on work with lab equipment and systems.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
