Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of closure components for world-class vehicles using Catia 3DX. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge vehicle systems within a diverse and youthful engineering team, with high autonomy ideal for fast learners and self-starters.
Responsibilities
+ Design parts and assemblies for vehicle programs through the entire product life cycle from concept to production to service/warranty/end-of-life.
+ Perform mechanical design analysis and packaging of various closure components such as Hood, Fender, Side Door, Decklid, and Liftgate.
+ Ensure vehicles conform to all motor vehicle safety standards governing Closures system operation.
+ Collaborate closely with the full design engineering team and other stakeholders to create world-class designs.
+ Assist cross-functional teams such as CAE by interpreting and using analysis results to guide and evolve the design.
+ Work with manufacturing to ensure efficient process sequence and build quality.
+ Collaborate with Manufacturing Design, Product Development, Stamping, and Suppliers on tool design and secondary component changes.
+ Perform analysis of section properties, materials, and manufacturing processes through benchmarking activities.
+ Apply GDT, create drawings, packaging layouts, and design for manufacturability/assembly (DFM/DFA).
Essential Skills
+ 8 years of experience in the field.
+ Strong proficiency in CATIA/CAD.
+ Experience in automotive design, especially in closure systems.
+ Proven design packaging and 3D modeling skills using CATIA V5/V6 or similar software.
+ Ability to prioritize and execute tasks quickly in a high-pressure environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred, not mandatory.
+ Experience in CAE.
+ Experience using FEA tools within the CATIA environment.
+ Experience working with Class A surface data.
+ Detail-oriented personality with a determined problem-solving attitude.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
