Job Title: Software Developer
Job Description
This role focuses on writing and maintaining source code, creating and maintaining software applications, and applying frameworks involved in a software release. The position involves computer programming, documentation, configuration management, testing, and bug fixing, all contributing to the software release life cycle and resulting in a software product. Proficiency in one or more programming languages is required.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain software applications using C# or VB.NET.
+ Document software processes and manage configurations.
+ Test and fix bugs to ensure software quality.
+ Communicate with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes, and practices.
+ Solve simple routine technical problems following established procedures.
+ Work under supervision on less complex projects or assignments.
+ Participate in team level scrum meetings and planning/review meetings.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
+ Less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
+ Experience with C# or VB.NET and object-oriented programming.
+ Basic knowledge of software design patterns.
+ Experience with JavaScript and JS frameworks such as React.
+ Solid understanding of software development process fundamentals.
+ Strong desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques.
+ Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with basic web technologies, including HTML, CSS, XML, REST, JSON, SOAP, and WSDL.
+ Familiarity with web application technologies, such as .NET.
+ Familiarity with ASP.NET Web Forms and/or MVC.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio.
+ Knowledge of a version control system (e.g., Git).
+ Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies.
+ Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, LINUX, etc.).
+ Familiarity with at least one Relational Database Management System (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).
+ Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint).
+ Active DoD security clearance.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of a collaborative small agile team working onsite 2+ days per week, with team sizes ranging from 2 to 8 members depending on project assignments. The Software Factory supports multiple domains and sizes of .NET development projects. The role includes growth and development opportunities within both technical areas and responsibilities on larger projects.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $45.00/hr.
