Job Title: R&D EngineerJob Description
Join our global collaborative R&D team where you will play a pivotal role in creating and enhancing printed circuit board designs using Cadence design systems, specifically Allegro. You will facilitate the release of projects to manufacturing by capturing schematic designs, creating new part numbers, and developing detailed descriptions and printed board assemblies (BOM structures) for both new and legacy products. Your work will involve using the Windchill PDM application tool to store vital fabrication documentation and resolve design-fabrication discrepancies.
Responsibilities
+ Create and improve printed circuit board designs using Cadence Allegro.
+ Release projects to manufacturing by capturing schematic design, creating new part numbers, and detailing BOM structures.
+ Utilize Windchill PDM for storing fabrication documentation, schematics, and gerber files.
+ Resolve differences between design and fabrication requirements, making necessary modifications.
+ Participate in regular team meetings, including engineering change order meetings to support manufacturing and quality assurance.
+ Collaborate with other engineering resources and assist in solving complex, unfamiliar problems.
+ Work independently with minimal assistance, suggesting innovative solutions to streamline processes.
+ Maintain product and company reputation by complying with applicable regulations and standards.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Cadence Allegro and Windchill PDM.
+ Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and BOM structures.
+ Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits, and power electronics circuits with 5+ years of experience.
+ Ability to lead PCB specifications release in qualification and PDM.
+ Knowledge of test equipment such as CRO, AC Source, DC Source, and Multimeters.
+ Ability to design PCB that meets electrical, EMC, Safety, mechanical, thermal, and DFA/DFM requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
+ Experience with IGBTs, Magnetics, Thyristors, and AC/DC capacitors.
+ Ability to run independent tests and troubleshoot products.
+ Experience with design packages and PLM tools, particularly Allegro and Windchill PDM.
+ Knowledge of Ladder Logic GE Proficy Software or Modicon Control Expert Software.
+ Proficient in MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
+ Good problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.

This is a Contract position based out of Andover, Massachusetts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
