Job Description

As an Emissions Testing Technician, you will work with project teams to conduct third-party EPA air emissions testing and monitoring for industrial and manufacturing sites. Your role includes transporting equipment using a company vehicle, setting up and breaking down testing equipment, recording data, collecting samples, and assisting engineers in air quality testing procedures. You will also be responsible for equipment calibrations, adhering to environmental, health, and safety protocols, organizing and loading testing equipment for upcoming jobs, and maintaining and cleaning testing equipment. Additionally, you will study for and obtain certifications for EPA Test Methods 1-5 using company resources.
Responsibilities

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with EPA regulations, air monitoring equipment, or environmental compliance standards.
+ Mechanical experience in diagnosing and repairing equipment, using ropes or rigging systems, or working in HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
+ Digital proficiency in Excel, GIS, AutoCAD, or mobile data platforms.
+ Strong time management and professional communication skills.
+ History of curiosity through tinkering, volunteering, or outdoor hobbies.
+ Age requirement: Prefer candidates 21+ to meet company vehicle driving requirements; 20+ may be acceptable.
Work Environment
The work environment is highly field-driven, physically demanding, and travel-intensive. Technicians operate across the Pacific Northwest—primarily along the I-5 corridor, with occasional assignments in Eastern Washington, Idaho, Alaska, and Guam (except more work is currently focused in WA and OR). Fieldwork comprises long 8–10+ hour days spent climbing ladders over 75 feet, hoisting equipment by rope, and working outdoors in varied industrial settings. Travel is scheduled up to six months in advance and includes overnight hotel stays, full per diem, and use of a company vehicle with a mobile lab trailer. When not in the field, technicians work from the office, prepping jobs, packing samples, repairing equipment, and performing data entry and analysis. The role demands adaptability, mechanical grit, and a strong safety mindset, with weekend work occurring infrequently but possible. It’s a hands-on, apprenticeship-style environment where learning happens through direct experience and collaboration with seasoned environmental professionals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodinville, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr.
