Job Title: Controls Engineer Job Description
Join a global leader in the glass and glazing industry, specializing in automotive applications at our Shelbyville facility. This location is at the forefront of manufacturing toughened glass, equipped with advanced robotics and machinery. As a Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and overseeing the build of control panels, integrating new and legacy equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
+ Design and oversee the construction of control panels for new projects.
+ Create new control systems and ensure their integration and commissioning.
+ Read and create electrical diagrams with proficiency.
+ Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
+ Program and design automated equipment.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
+ Experience in automation and controls engineering.
+ Expertise with Texas Instruments PLCs, including PLC-5, RSLogix500, and Studio5000.
+ Experience in motion control with AC/DC drives.
+ Proficiency with HMI systems, particularly FactoryTalk View.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associates degree in Engineering.
+ 5+ years of relevant experience.
+ Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
Work Environment
Work within a factory environment on a consistent Monday through Friday schedule with 1st shift hours. Occasional weekend work may be required. Minimal overtime and no travel involved. Enjoy 40 hours of PTO and 6 paid holidays. The role requires excellent communication with the team, particularly with 2nd shift staff.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shelbyville, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $50.48/hr.
