We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. The role involves engaging with patients and communicating effectively with doctor offices and insurance companies. You will be responsible for inputting prescriptions, filling them, and manually processing prescription orders. This position requires data entry skills and maintaining inventory control. The pharmacy handles a high volume of prescriptions, with 500 scripts processed throughout the day.

Responsibilities

+ Interact with patients and provide excellent customer service.

+ Communicate with doctor offices and insurance companies to resolve prescription issues.

+ Input electronic or hard copy prescriptions accurately into the system.

+ Fill and manually process prescription orders efficiently.

+ Perform data entry tasks related to prescription processing.

+ Control inventory by ensuring items are ordered and checked in properly.

Essential Skills

+ Pharmacy technician license

+ 3+ years of experience in a pharmacy technician role

+ Strong data entry skills

+ Experience in a retail pharmacy setting

+ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

+ Customer service skills

+ Understanding of healthcare and pharmacy operations

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Pharmacy technician certificate is a plus but not required

+ Experience with claim and prior authorization processes

+ Experience in a supermarket or independent pharmacy setting

Work Environment

The work environment is bustling with activity, ensuring there's never a dull moment. You will never work alone as there is always someone on shift with you, fostering a supportive and cohesive team environment. The owner is actively involved in day-to-day operations, providing a hands-on leadership approach. The team consists of 35 employees, including 15 full-timers and 20 part-timers. Shifts are either 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with schedules released on the 15th of every month. The lead technician is accommodating as long as you communicate effectively.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westfield, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
