Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
Directs and coordinates the fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, engines, and systems. Ensures that quality levels and industry standards are maintained or improved in the manufacturing process. Oversees installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment such as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems. Evaluates mechanical products for cost-effectiveness and efficiency, and may recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions. This role requires independent work with minimal supervision, applying professional expertise and judgement.
Responsibilities
+ Resolve manufacturing issues from root cause to the most apparent symptoms.
+ Participate in the development and implementation of reliable methods across functional groups.
+ Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and concepts.
+ Develop and maintain process documentation.
+ Design, conduct, and develop reports for experiments to characterize and validate new or changed manufacturing processes.
+ Train assemblers in new manufacturing processes.
+ Balance the production line.
+ Justify, specify, order, and coordinate the installation and qualification of tooling and equipment.
+ Evaluate product designs and facilitate improvements.
+ Determine appropriate material presentation and packaging.
+ Improve ergonomics of manufacturing methods.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years’ experience in process design, development, and process/equipment qualification or validation.
+ Proficiency in lean manufacturing, process improvement, and continuous improvement.
+ Experience with aerospace and automotive engineering.
+ Strong problem-solving methodologies.
+ Ability to efficiently collect and analyze data.
+ Good analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in medical device manufacturing.
+ Understanding of quality systems and design for manufacturing.
+ Experience in process validation.
Work Environment
Weekend shift with flexibility to work 5 8-hour days or 4 10-hour days, covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:30am-6:00pm. After six months, the schedule will move to a standard Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. The role requires onsite presence and involves collaboration with Production, Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and other cross-functional groups to improve manufacturing processes.

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, Washington.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
