    Job Title: Lab Technician (Operations and Inventory Management within QC Microbiology)

    Job Description

    The Lab Technician will support the operations and media preparation team within the QC Microbiology department. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory by managing inventory, conducting preventative maintenance, and assisting analysts in their testing responsibilities. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills and network with various lab groups.

    Responsibilities

    + Open the laboratory in the morning and prepare instruments and equipment for use.

    + Calibrate pH meters and balances, ensuring accuracy for testing.

    + Clean glassware, organize, and prepare samples for analysis.

    + Operate and manage the autoclave for sterilization purposes.

    + Conduct preventative maintenance tasks throughout the laboratory.

    + Assist analysts with their daily tasks and testing requirements.

    + Track down materials and manage the running of supplies.

    + Receive training on different types of testing after 6-8 months in the role to enhance skills and knowledge.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's Degree in Sciences, preferably Microbiology or Biology.

    + Exposure to pH and balances, with a preference for experience in autoclave or media preparation.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
