Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems for crane equipment. You will collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure cranes operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Our company is a leading provider of industrial lifting solutions, specializing in the design, manufacturing, and servicing of overhead cranes, gantry cranes, and custom lifting systems. Responsibilities
+ Design and implement electrical control systems for overhead and gantry cranes.
+ Develop wiring diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts using CAD tools.
+ Select and specify components such as motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, and relays.
+ Program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs for crane automation and safety systems.
+ Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and other relevant standards.
+ Support installation, commissioning, and field service teams with technical guidance.
+ Conduct failure analysis and recommend improvements for existing systems.
+ Maintain documentation and assist in preparing technical manuals and training materials.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. (preferred)
+ 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or crane systems preferred.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
+ Experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
+ Strong understanding of motor control, VFDs, and industrial safety standards.
+ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with NAVFAC is a plus.
+ Ability to work in field environments and travel as needed.
Work Environment
The role involves working in both office and field environments. You will use technologies such as CAD tools and PLC programming software. Travel may be required to support installation and field service teams. The position demands adherence to industrial safety standards and a focus on maintaining performance in heavy-duty environments.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
