Job Title: Construction Project Manager
Job Description
As a Sr Mechanical Project Manager, your role is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of assigned construction projects. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing financials, scheduling, change management, and contractor relations. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring project success from preconstruction through construction phases.
Responsibilities
+ Serve as the primary point of contact with clients and oversee all project aspects including financial management, change management, scheduling, conflict resolution, and contractor relations.
+ Manage preconstruction and construction phases of assigned projects.
+ Assist in the development of project procurement documents for various delivery methods.
+ Oversee the cost/change management process for assigned projects.
+ Ensure proper service delivery by coordinating with contracted trades, vendors, consultants, and suppliers.
+ Partner with the Design Team to coordinate delivery of design packages with schedules for estimating, bidding, and construction.
+ Allocate project resources based on demands and adjust resource needs throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Draft and manage subcontract agreements and work scopes for all trade contractors.
+ Execute contractual risk protections and determine Builder’s Risk Insurance approach.
+ Emphasize safety as the top priority on the project, ensuring safe practices and addressing unsafe situations promptly.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, and other agencies.
+ Partner with governing authorities to understand requirements and develop plans to meet or exceed standards.
+ Establish work scopes for project team members and communicate expectations and responsibilities.
+ Facilitate information sharing across project team members to keep everyone informed of current project status.
+ Manage conflicts and disputes focusing on developing mutually acceptable solutions.
+ Promote team development by modeling effective performance and encouraging knowledge sharing.
+ Provide motivational and constructive feedback to team members.
+ Provide on-site leadership to motivate team members to meet project goals and adhere to responsibilities and milestones.
+ Set and manage project expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
Essential Skills
+ Project management expertise in construction and mechanical fields.
+ Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of work experience in construction or a related job field.
+ Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
+ Experience in construction management, RFI, project coordination, commercial construction, and project engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with projects in various sectors such as healthcare, churches, data centers, and K-12.
Work Environment
The role requires a balance of on-site and office work, with approximately 50% of the time spent on construction sites and 50% in the office.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesquite, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $65.00/hr.
