Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Specialist
Job Description
A Clinical Laboratory Specialist ensures operational efficiency and maintains regulatory compliance while performing their duties.
Responsibilities
+ Perform molecular, serologic, and manufacturing sample testing ranging from routine to high complexity.
+ Accession clinical samples and manage data entry/reporting in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
+ Monitor and document daily, weekly, and monthly quality control metrics.
+ Maintain equipment calibrations and support method validations and assay development.
+ Train new staff and conduct competency assessments.
+ Ensure compliance with SOPs, cGMP, and regulatory guidelines.
+ Handle samples and materials using proper PPE and safety protocols.
+ Document deviations and CAPA submissions using MediaLab software.
+ Summarize quality metrics using Microsoft tools.

+ Knowledge of immunohematology and molecular procedures, including NAT testing
+ Proficient in technical writing for inclusion in regulated documents
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in immunology, genetics, molecular biology, or related field
+ Promotes teamwork and has a positive employee morale
+ 12 months or less of experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment is a plus
+ CLS (ASCP) or equivalent is a plus
Work Environment
Work is performed in both a lab and an office environment. The role requires frequent sitting for a total of 4-6 hours per day.
Location
This position is based out of San Marcos, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
