Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description

Join a dynamic operations and manufacturing group that consists of two teams: conventional test engineering and manufacturing software engineering. As an Engineering Technician, you will primarily support the test engineering team, serving as a front-line troubleshooter for software, hardware, and IT errors on the production floor test equipment. You will also engage in activities such as characterizing software/hardware components and optics, providing general production test support, and conducting root cause troubleshooting at the functional board and test instrument level.

Responsibilities

+ Serve as a front-line troubleshooter for software, hardware, and IT errors on production floor test equipment.

+ Characterize software/hardware components and optics.

+ Provide general production test support and triage for production line operators.

+ Conduct root cause troubleshooting at the functional board and test instrument level.

+ Test the security/compliance of test stands and network connectivity.

+ Update documentation and manage tickets for test-related IT issues.

+ Deploy Windows 11 upgrades on test stands/stations and configure them correctly.

Essential Skills

+ 2-5 years of technician experience working on electro-mechanical systems.

+ Demonstrated experience in triage and root cause problem solving for software, hardware, and IT issues.

+ Strong troubleshooting, electronics, and scripting skills.

+ Good communication and computer skills to interface with multiple parts of the organization and handle ticket systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ AS+ Degree in a relevant field.

+ Programming/scripting skills or an engineering background that allows for easy acquisition of these skills.

+ Familiarity with LabVIEW and Python.

+ Ability to self-study and learn on the job.

Work Environment

The role is based on the manufacturing floor, providing a hands-on work environment. You will be working on test stands and processes, with opportunities for career advancement into an engineering role. Tuition reimbursement is available for those looking to further their education.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
