Job Title: Electrical Design EngineerJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer responsible for generating, designing, and revising 2D electrical detail/schematic drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and production assembly drawings (PADs). The primary focus will be on designing wiring schematics and harness drawings using AutoCAD, as well as electrical components in SolidWorks. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical design and proficiency in both AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Collaboration with the shop floor will be essential to verify fit and function, ensuring designs are accurately translated into physical components.

Responsibilities

+ Generate and revise 2D electrical detail/schematic drawings and 3D models.

+ Design wiring schematics and harness drawings in AutoCAD.

+ Create and design electrical components using SolidWorks.

+ Collaborate with the shop floor to verify fit and function of designs.

+ Ensure timely and accurate delivery of designs to meet project requirements.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of experience in circuitry design, load calculations, and power distribution.

+ 5+ years of experience in 2D AutoCAD designing electrical harnesses.

+ 5+ years of experience designing electrical components in SolidWorks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP).

+ Experience with industry standards such as ANSI/ASME, GD&T, SAE, FMVSS.

+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Work Environment

The position is based in an engineering building where the candidate will work alongside other engineers. The role primarily involves design work at a cubicle with some interaction with the shop floor for troubleshooting. The team consists of 10 engineers, including 8 Design Engineers and 2 Electrical Engineers, working alongside functional leads and mentors. Work hours are Monday to Thursday, 6am-4pm, with 6 holidays and 1 week of PTO provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $46.00/hr.
