Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-driven Accountant to join our client in Modesto, California. This long-term contract role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial analysis, along with the ability to support decision-making through actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

• Process daily financial transactions accurately and in compliance with organizational policies.

• Prepare detailed financial reports and documentation to support strategic objectives.

• Conduct thorough analyses of financial data to guide management decisions and improve operational outcomes.

• Perform account and bank reconciliations regularly, ensuring proper documentation and timely resolution of discrepancies.

• Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, adhering to set deadlines.

• Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor payments and invoice approvals.

• Oversee accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely billing, collections, and revenue reporting.

• Implement strategies to enhance cash flow and strengthen financial controls.

• Collaborate with auditors during financial reviews, providing required documentation and insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in general ledger management, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions, pivot tables, and macros (preferred).

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and deliver actionable insights.

• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

• Familiarity with governmental or non-profit accounting standards and practices.

• Experience working with auditors during financial reviews.
