Description We are looking for a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This Contract to permanent position requires a detail-oriented individual to manage billing processes, ensure timely claim submissions, and resolve discrepancies with precision and efficiency. The role offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with clinical and administrative teams while maintaining compliance with insurance policies and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify the accuracy of patient demographic, insurance, and treatment information before submitting claims.

• Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies and third-party payers.

• Investigate and resolve unpaid or denied claims, addressing discrepancies in billing as needed.

• Post insurance and patient payments accurately to maintain up-to-date patient accounts.

• Generate patient statements and respond promptly to inquiries related to billing.

• Examine Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advices for accuracy and proper processing.

• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to address billing issues and ensure compliance with payer requirements.

• Uphold patient and financial confidentiality in accordance with industry regulations.

• Stay informed about billing codes and insurance policies to maintain accuracy in all processes. Requirements • Proven experience in medical billing, including claim submission and follow-up.

• Familiarity with medical coding systems and insurance policies.

• Proficiency in using electronic records and remittance systems.

• Strong knowledge of billing and collections processes, including cash collection and payment posting.

• Experience working with clearinghouses and third-party payers.

• Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies in billing or insurance claims.

• Excellent communication skills to address patient inquiries and collaborate with team members.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with industry regulations.
