Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
As a Quality Inspector, you will perform visual inspections on incoming, in-process, and finished goods to identify defects, cosmetic issues, or deviations from specifications or standards. You will conduct final inspections prior to product release, ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements. You will utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauge pins for dimensional inspections. Your role involves operating and, if trained, programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and vision systems, as well as interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions including GD&T. Accurate documentation of inspection results for traceability is crucial, alongside identifying and reporting nonconformances and assisting in initiating and tracking corrective actions. Ensuring inspection equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and handled with care is part of the job. Additionally, you will assist in the development and verification of inspection aids, test setups, and fixtures, collaborating with production and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns and ensure continuous improvement.
Responsibilities

+ Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauge pins for dimensional inspections.
+ Operate and, if trained, program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and vision systems.
+ Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions including GD&T.
+ Accurately document inspection results for traceability in accordance with company procedures.
+ Identify and report nonconformances; assist in initiating and tracking corrective actions.
+ Ensure inspection equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and handled with care.
+ Assist in the development and verification of inspection aids, test setups, and fixtures.
+ Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns and ensure continuous improvement.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to read engineering drawings.
+ Experience with mechanical inspection tools, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), vision systems, verniers, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge pins.
+ Familiarity with inspection, quality control, and blueprint reading.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Preferred experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 certified Quality Management Systems (QMS).
+ Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP, is desired.
+ Active IPC-610 (completed training within the past 2 years) preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment is a clean manufacturing setting, equipped with the necessary tools and technology to perform quality inspections.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
