• Health and Safety Specialist

    Cleveland-Cliffs Dearborn Works is currently seeking a Health and Safety Specialist at our Dearborn Works location. This role works to provide a safe environment for steel production by performing regular audits at the work site, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing standard safety protocols.

    Summary of Responsibilities:

    + Assist in the formation and enforcement of safety rules and regulations in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other related guidelines.

    + Involvement with incident investigations, correction and prevention of safety hazards and OSHA compliance.

    + Interaction with UAW health and safety representatives as well as outside contractors.

    + Coordination and instruction of safety training and seminars.

    + Participating in safety audits.

    + Follow company policy regarding all health, safety, and environmental procedures.

    + Inspect facilities to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.

    + Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.

    + All other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

    + Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills required.

    + Proficiency MS Office products such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    + Excellent organizational and writing skills are a must.

    + Excellent communication skills.

    + Must be detail oriented.

    + Capacity to multitask.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor degree in Occupational Health Safety Engineering
