Summary:

To provide engineered access solutions for BrandSafway’s Applications, with a specific focus on construction hoist and its run-back platform structures in addition to other access systems. This role will also involve supporting steel fabrication activities, including preparation of fabrication drawings and collaboration with shop teams.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Perform detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and design for steel fabrication and erection. Develop fabrication drawings, connection details, and bill of materials. Coordinate closely with fabrication shops, field teams, and engineering staff to ensure accuracy, constructability, and timely delivery of projects. Provide technical oversight during fabrication and erection to resolve design and shop issues.

+ Perform detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and design for access systems, primarily focused on construction hoist and its run-back platform structures (four poles, star leg, and mast towers) along with other temporary structure projects involving shoring and bracing, scaffold, mast climbers, work platforms, roof protections, sidewalk shed, construction fence, and suspended systems.

+ Prepare drawing submittals using AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk Advance Steel for fabrication and erection purposes.

+ Prepare calculation packages using Staad, Risa, Tedds, Enercalc, MathCAD, and Excel for projects following applicable design codes, OSHA regulations, local codes, and company guidelines.

+ Responsibilities will include structural analysis and design, preparation of detailed accurate design calculations, and site inspections, with a specific emphasis on construction hoist with its run-back platform structures and steel fabrication.

+ Provide technical assistance to branches, including visiting branches and project sites.

+ Work with other application engineers to provide technical support for regional branch customers, including hoist/scaffold erection drawings, fabrication drawings, bill of materials, and site visits.

+ Follow BrandSafway design guidelines and standards.

+ Collaborate with BrandSafway Product Development engineers to provide custom product solutions and design feedback.

+ Gain expertise in the company’s extensive product offerings to provide the right/unique access solutions.

+ Leverage engineering CAD and PDM management tools effectively.

+ Knowledge of regional fleet and look for ways to leverage them effectively in designs.

+ Ability to make quick decisions in a high-demand environment.

+ Must be safety-minded and comply with all safety protocols within the work environment.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.

+ 2+ years of experience.

+ Must be proficient in the use of computers, including 3D AutoCAD with Revit preferred.

+ Knowledge of engineering software such as STAAD, RISA, TEDDS, ENERCALC, and others a plus.

+ Candidate has successfully completed FE exam (EIT status) preferred and on track to take the PE exam within 2 years or less.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary along with a customer service focus.

+ Motivated to learn new and challenging tasks and work in the construction industry.

+ Creative problem solving, in a collaborative team environment.
