**Job Title:** Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

**Location:** Bremerton, Washington

**Job Type:** Contract

We’re hiring a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to support maintenance operations on a Naval Base. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment including trucks, buses, emergency vehicles, locomotives, and heavy machinery.

Responsibilities:

+ Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

+ Diagnose and repair diesel engines, power trains, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems

+ Rebuild and reassemble equipment to OEM and Navy standards

+ Operate heavy lift towing and recovery equipment

+ Conduct welding and fabrication repairs

+ Identify and order replacement parts

Requirements:

+ 4+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair

+ Proficient in diesel diagnostics, hydraulics, and electrical systems

+ Valid WA State driver’s license and CDL Class B or C

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

+ Must meet physical and security clearance requirements

Preferred Skills:

+ Fleet maintenance experience

+ Ability to read blueprints

+ Own standard hand tools

Work Environment:

Work is performed on a Naval Base with strict safety protocols. Conditions may vary and require use of specialized tools and equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $49.95 - $49.95/hr.
