Process Technician, Grand Rapids

Job Description

This is a 3rd Shift Process Technician position with working hours from 11 PM to 7 AM. Currently, the position requires mandatory work six days a week, with a goal to reduce it to five days upon filling all open positions. Candidates have the option for a contract-to-hire position, with overtime hours available. You will collaborate daily to meet changing priorities of mold changes and press startups across 38 presses ranging from 65 to 1500 tons, with four additional presses anticipated in the next six months.

Responsibilities

+ Start up, shut down, and monitor injection molding processes to ensure quality standards and timelines are met.

+ Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with molding machines and make necessary adjustments.

+ Perform mold changes using overhead cranes and forklifts, with up to 12 mold changes per day across all shifts.

+ Troubleshoot secondary equipment, including dryers, hoppers, color mixers, loaders, thermolaters, robots, sprue pickers, and hot runners.

+ Manage a specific zone on the manufacturing floor, overseeing the presses and automation cells.

Essential Skills

+ 2-4 years experience in a plastic injection facility.

+ Ability to change molds, with experience advancing from a mold setting position.

+ 2-4 years working as a Process Technician.

+ Complete understanding of Process Verification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with Milacron RoboShot, Hiatian, Vandorn, Toshiba presses, and Sepro and Fanuc robots.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58000.00/yr.
