Job Title: Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate both manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes and milling machines. Your role will involve fabricating precision parts, fixtures, and prototypes from various sources such as drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions. You will design and build custom tooling and work-holding solutions to enhance shop productivity, as well as rework and repair test assemblies and prototype components. Interpreting engineering drawings and performing necessary calculations for machining operations will be essential, as will collaborating with engineers and technicians on product development and test setups. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining tools, equipment, and general shop organization.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools such as lathes and milling machines.
+ Fabricate precision parts, fixtures, and prototypes from drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions.
+ Design and build custom tooling and work-holding solutions to improve shop productivity.
+ Rework and repair test assemblies and prototype components.
+ Interpret engineering drawings and perform necessary calculations for machining operations.
+ Collaborate with engineers and technicians on product development and test setups.
+ Maintain tools, equipment, and general shop organization.
Essential Skills
+ Blueprint reading and interpretation.
+ Experience with lathes, milling machines, and tool making.
+ Proficiency with CNC machines.
+ Knowledge of CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
+ Understanding of machining principles and tolerances.
+ Use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with 3D printing.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with machining and fabrication.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $68000.00/yr.
