Job Title: Welder/Fitter (Night Shift)

Job Description

Join a dynamic team specializing in the fabrication of custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. We are seeking skilled welders and fitters to fabricate skids for electrical control panels, ensuring the seamless assembly of power distribution systems.

Responsibilities

+ Fabricate metal skids for electrical cabinets and power distribution systems.

+ Read blueprints and take precise measurements for structural steel channels.

+ Perform fit-ups and Flux Core welding in 2G and 3G positions.

+ Weld on carbon steel and work independently to fit and weld work pieces.

Requirements

+ 5+ years of structural welding or fitting experience.

+ Proficiency in Flux Core welding.

+ Experience with skids.

+ Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tape.

+ Capability to perform 3G welding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ MIG welding and 4G welding experience.

+ Extensive experience with welding and fitting.

+ Familiarity with 11 gauge and 14 gauge sheet metal.

Work Environment

Work in a medium-sized, clean, and organized shop that is part of a larger facility. Although not climate-controlled, the environment is equipped with open bay doors and numerous fans. Join a fast-paced production shop with a night shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, typically working 11 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
