    Job Title: Quality Inspector

    Job Description

    The Quality Inspector is responsible for raw material and incoming product inspection activities using company and customer-defined quality requirements. The role supports the Quality Department in the verification of purchased materials, production materials, and finished goods.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform in-process, GP-12, shipping, and receiving inspection activities as needed.

    + Audit production inspection reports as required.

    + Conduct plant round part and process inspections as directed.

    + Conduct Final Product Audits.

    + Perform product certification, containment, and sort activities under the direction of a Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, or Quality Manager.

    + Support production sampling for quality testing activities.

    + Book finished goods products.

    + Print finished goods zebra labels for production as needed.

    + Issue and/or train to Quality Alerts when necessary.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-3 years of experience in product inspection and quality control activities.

    + Proficiency in utilizing metrology/inspection tools.

    + Ability to interpret quality specifications, part drawings, and written procedures.

    + Proficiency in using PC applications, including Excel and MS Word.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in quality, gage, mechanical skills, and manufacturing.

    + Skills in visual inspection and assembly.

    Work Environment

     

    The work involves manufacturing metal exhaust systems for automotive manufacturers, including tube bending, assembly, and shipping. The environment is fast-paced, clean, and varies in noise levels. Compliance with all PPE and safety requirements is mandatory, including wearing steel-toe shoes at all times. The company provides safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.04 - $20.00/hr.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
