    Job Title: Sanitation Technician

    Job Description

    The Sanitation Technician will independently perform essential cleaning tasks throughout the plant, ensuring a safe and sanitized environment. This role involves completing a daily rotation checklist of cleaning duties and maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the facility.

    Responsibilities

    + Vacuum inside mill structures and packing buildings.

    + Dust pipes and remove cobwebs.

    + Clean major and minor spills during production as needed.

    + Wash flour silos from top to bottom.

    + Clean and sweep sifter, mill tower, and packing tower.

    + Check magnets in the scale area.

    + Clean and sweep flour accumulation on stairways and balconies, both inside and outside flour silos.

    + Sweep and clean spilled corn from outside corn silos and mill structures.

    + Wash out gutters, structure, and roof of buildings throughout the plant.

    + Wash production tower.

    + Pick up trash, pallets, cans, and cardboard throughout the plant.

    + Set up equipment for any arising tasks.

    + Assist in taping and sealing warehouse, packing area, box cars, and hopper cars.

    + Assist in fogging, releasing fumigants and insecticides in warehouse, packing, mills, hopper, box cars, and flour silos.

    + Apply sanitizers and other cleaning agents in production areas.

    + Clean and sanitize interior drains by rinsing, scrubbing, and flushing with sanitizer.

    + Perform detailed cleaning of interior production areas, including dusting, sweeping, pressure washing, and vacuuming.

    + Assist the mill in cleaning production equipment during shutdowns, sanitizing, and scheduled cleaning procedures.

    + Handle chemicals and equipment properly, adhering to safety protocols.

    + Practice good GMPs, including hygiene, housekeeping, and preventing cross-contamination.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to follow simple written instructions.

    + Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.

    + Reliable transportation to and from work.

    + Ability to work at elevated heights, up to 80 ft silos.

    + Good attendance is crucial.

    + Must possess a high school diploma or GED.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Prior industrial cleaning or housekeeping experience is advantageous.

    + Experience in manufacturing settings is a plus.

    + Physical capability to clean for long periods and stand for the entirety of a 12-hour shift.

    + Frequently walking, climbing ladders, and stairs.

    + Ability to push carts full of cleaning equipment and products.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment exposes employees to varied weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy situations. Hearing protection may be necessary due to sound levels, and dust from flour is common. Cell phones are not allowed on the production floor. The dress code includes a provided purple hard hat, clean jeans or work pants, a t-shirt without offensive graphics, and steel-toe boots. Shifts are from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for overtime and occasional Saturday work. This is a contract-to-hire position, with eligibility for direct hire after 640 hours, pending internal openings.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of EVANSVILLE, Indiana.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $23.15 - $23.15/hr.
