Job Title: Technician

Job Description

This position involves performing various duties such as installing and inspecting piping, troubleshooting and repairing pumps and other equipment used in the daily operations of the landfill. Responsibilities also include moving materials, managing leachate, digging ditches, and other general labor tasks. The role primarily involves outdoor maintenance work.

Responsibilities

+ Install and inspect piping systems.

+ Troubleshoot and repair pumps and other equipment.

+ Perform general labor duties such as moving materials and digging ditches.

+ Manage leachate systems effectively.

+ Conduct various maintenance tasks in an outdoor environment.

Essential Skills

+ At least 1 year of experience working on a construction job site.

+ At least 1 year of general labor experience.

+ Proficiency in mechanical tasks and heavy equipment operation.

+ Experience with hand tools and repair techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with carpentry, landscaping, or similar outdoor labor tasks.

+ Familiarity with heavy equipment such as skid steers and bobcats is a plus.

+ Experience with installation or troubleshooting is highly advantageous.

Work Environment

The role is based at a landfill in Collinsville, AL, where employees maintain the leachate system. The work environment can be dirty and carries the scent of the landfill, requiring comfort with working in outdoor conditions in all weather. The shift is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime is available, initially during weekdays, with potential for weekend work as familiarity with the site and duties increases.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Collinsville, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
