Automotive Mechanic

**Location:** Bremerton, Washington

Overview:

We’re hiring an experienced Automotive Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment, including autos, light trucks, and forklifts. This role is based at a Naval Base and requires strict adherence to safety and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

+ Perform preventive maintenance and fluid replacements

+ Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components

+ Operate hoists, hand tools, and specialized equipment

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area

+ Follow safety procedures and complete assigned tasks

Qualifications:

+ Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial or government automotive repair

+ Proficient in troubleshooting gasoline and light-duty diesel engines

+ Skilled in brake systems, transmissions, welding, and heavy equipment maintenance

+ Must possess and maintain personal hand tools

+ Valid Washington State driver’s license with clean driving record

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

+ Must meet physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification

+ Explosives certification required for ordnance-related duties

Work Environment:

Structured setting at a Naval Base with access to advanced tools and equipment. Emphasis on safety, teamwork, and professionalism.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
