Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing various menu items including proteins, vegetables, fruits, starches, and sauces according to established recipes and specifications. The Cook will work closely with the culinary team to ensure production goals and service needs are met, while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Responsibilities
+ Review recipes and consult with the designated culinarian to confirm production goals and service needs.
+ Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers by taking orders, plating, cooking, and serving.
+ Build and sustain professional working relationships with classified staff and subordinates.
+ Provide direction to Food Service Workers and student staff as necessary.
+ Monitor prepared foods to ensure compliance with Washington State health code regulations and maintain temperature logs.
+ Manage food disposition according to health codes and dining policies at the end of shifts.
+ Label all items in storage areas properly.
+ Maintain records of foods produced and wasted.
+ Ensure security and safety requirements are met and address any issues with staff and supervisor.
+ Participate in cleaning kitchen tables and equipment.
+ Review par levels and ensure proper stocking for the next day, submitting orders through CBord.
+ Perform additional data entry of daily production/waste records in CBord if needed.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in line cooking, food preparation, and foodservice.
+ Ability to follow recipes and specifications precisely.
+ Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ One year of cooking experience or equivalent experience as a Food Service Worker.
+ Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $25.67/hr.
